Hello Beautiful,

Is there anything more beautiful and powerful than the word Freedom? What comes to mind when you hear this word? My first thought is imagery of a bird soaring free across the skies, unrestrained with limitless possibilities. Okay, I have to admit- I also think of Mel Gibson, with sword raised high, leading the charge for freedom in the movie Braveheart. Can you picture yourself in that scene? On horseback, wind blowing through your hair, sword drawn and ready for battle. Wait. What?

The thing about freedom is this- there is always a story of someone who pressed through the struggle and made freedom possible for others. History is sprinkled with ordinary people who were faced with unthinkable and sometimes horrific circumstances, who through perseverance and inner fortitude, made a way for others to walk in freedom.

Although it would be hard to mention everyone, there is One who towers above the crowd; Jesus is our ultimate freedom giver! Isaiah 61 tells of Jesus’ job description:
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim FREEDOM for the captives.

So, what does it really look like as we reconcile with our past and navigate our lives with the twists and turns of circumstances, either of our own making or those that are entirely out of our control? How do we really get free….and stay free? And then, what does it really look like to live our lives in such a way that we can point others to freedom’s path?

Please join us for Brilliance as we hear from remarkable women who are charting the course for others, as we continue the ongoing, real-life conversation with each other, and as we lean into the presence, the power and the person of Jesus. We know He will meet us. And we know- where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom!

Love you much!
